Baked Lemon Chicken

This baked lemon chicken recipe is perfectly juicy and tender, easy to make, and full of the BEST fresh lemony flavour. 


6 chicken pieces (legs or thighs)
1 tbsp paprika powder/ red chili powder / Tandoori powder
1 tbsp roasted cumin powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp salt or as per taste
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 tbsp corn flour (corn starch)
2 tbsp olive oil


  1. Wash the chicken and pat dry with clean kitchen towel.
  2. Make few slits on the chicken pieces. This will help the chicken to absorb the marinade. 
  3. In a large bowl, put the rest of the ingredients and mix well to make the marinate paste.
  4. Now coat the chicken pieces with the marinate paste. Make sure every part of the chicken is well coated.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the marinated chicken pieces for at least 2 hours or overnight is best.
  6. Once it is marinated, keep the chicken outside the refrigerator and preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. 
  7. Line a baking tray with parchment paper or brush some oil on the tray. Place each chicken pieces on the tray.
  8. Bake the chicken for 45-60 minutes or until the chicken pieces are cooked on both sides and browned in colour. Serve hot! Enjoy!
