Butter cookie Roses

May 21, 2020
These butter cookies are absolutely delicious and just melt in mouth. If you are a cookie lover then you would love this. Ideal for a cup of tea or milk. This recipe calls only 5 ingredients. Nothing is better than homemade cookies.

(makes 24 roses)

175g butter (cold)
40g icing sugar
40g cornflour
1/2 tsp vanilla
175g all purpose flour

A piping bag
A large star nozzle

  1. Line 2 baking trays with parchment paper.
  2. Beat butter and icing sugar until pale white and fluffy. Then add vanilla and beat well.
  3. Sift flour and icing sugar together over the butter mixture and mix well using a spatula.
  4. Spoon the mixture into a piping bag fitted with large star shaped piping nozzle.
  5. Pipe in to the desired shapes on to the baking trays. (The cookie dough is a bit hard to pipe which will make the piping bag blast. So use double piping bag to avoid it.)
  6. Leave at least 2 inches gap in between each as the cookies will spread. Chill the cookies after piping for 15 minutes. Meanwhile preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  7. Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes. (do not wait until the cookies become brown in colour.)
  8. Once baked, take the cookies out and let the cookies be firm in the baking tray and cool completely. Enjoy!
*store in an airtight container in a cool and dry place.
*Use butter in the recipe not fat spread. If you use fat spread, it the cookies will spread. So use a good quality butter for best results.
