Homemade Buttermilk

Buttermilk is the secret ingredient that makes any cake, waffles, pancakes light and fluffy. Make your own homemade buttermilk with only two ingredients. Great for using in all your recipes that call for buttermilk.


1 cup butter milk
1 tbsp white vinegar/fresh lemon juice 


  1. In a small bowl, add in the fresh milk. 
  2. Stir in one or two tablespoons of white vinegar or fresh lemon juice.
  3. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes. The milk will start to curdle. Your buttermilk is now ready! 
  4. Use it as needed in any recipe or pour it into a clean glass jar and refrigerate up to two weeks.
